Good afternoon, Pirate families, We were notified today that Miami has canceled next week’s summer football and basketball leagues. As a result, Lefors ISD will also cancel summer workouts for Monday and Tuesday. Thank you for your understanding. We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July holiday.

We are excited to try to add a new sport this year… VOLLEYBALL! 🏐 Football and cheer will still play in the Top of Texas Football League. Volleyball will be Optimist. We are also looking for volleyball coaches! In the event we do not have enough athletes to make a team, we can help parents cover the cost to play individually. Summer Workouts begin tomorrow for all incoming 7th-12 grade boys and girls starting at 8am. We will meet at the Football field. Please bring your own workout clothes. We will finish at 11am. Please reach out to Coach Word if you have any questions.

Congratulations to Ricky Watson and his UIL Coach, Larry Franks! Ricky placed 3rd at the State UIL Academic competition in Social Studies!!

Join us this week for the All School Awards Banquet to honor student acheivements in academics, sports, and clubs. Junior High is Thursday at 6:30pm and High School is Friday at 6:30pm. The banquets will be held in the Activitiy Center (little gym) and admission is free. We hope to see you there!

Following the results of today’s school board election, Lefors ISD will welcome Hailey Callaway as a newly elected board member, and Nick Miller has been re-elected to continue his service on the board. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Sandra Coombes for her service, dedication, and commitment to our students and community.

📢 Important Campus Update – STAAR Testing Day 📢

Due to state STAAR testing on Wednesday, April 29th, juniors and seniors will not be allowed on campus until after lunch.

All juniors and seniors must report to school by 1:15 PM.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to provide a focused testing environment for our students.
